Verney Junction

Map locator - Verney_Junction

At Calvert, the old Great Central Railway - the last main line from London to the North, completed in 1899, crossed the varsity line from Oxford to Cambridge. A loop connecting them met at Verney Junction.

The line headed North is long gone, the lines from the south and west remain open for household waste, and the line vis Verney Junction to Winslow and Bletchley has been mothballed.
