New Severn Crossing
There are four crossings of the river Severn a few miles from
Bristol, where road, railway and power lines gain access to South Wales ... the
Newport area.

The New Severn Crossing is a cable stay bridge that carries the M4 Motorway (which runs from
London) into South Wales

New Severn Crossing
Before the new crossing, the M4 crossed via the Severn Bridge - a suspension bridge. That's now a part of the M48 motorway. In fact, the bridge crossed from England to England - a further bridge a few hundred yards along crosses the river Wye, and that's where traffic enters Wales.
