Learning Tcl/Tk for a custom GUI application
![]()
If you're writing an application that's to be used by "Joe Average", then you'll need to provide a user interface that
clear, easy and obvious. A Graphic User Interface (GUI) such as that provided by Tcl/Tk may be your answer. Here's a
student on a Tcl/Tk course during a practical session, implementing and testing such a GUI. In Tk, the elements of
a GUI are know as widgets, which are then positioned using geometry managers. Event handlers control what action is
to be taken as the user interacts with the GUI, or as other happenings effect the Tcl/Tk application.
