Object Orientation really works ;-)
![]()
Once you start getting involved in writing larger applications, or making serious use of Perl modules from
the CPAN, you'll find that object oriented Perl programming is your friend. Object Oriented techniques are
not ideal for tiny applications with no repeated code shared with other applications, but how common are
such requirements these days? Well - they're pretty rare. On our Perl for Larger Projects course, we
teach object oriented principles as well as showing you how object orientation is implemented in Perl. We
have practicals that cover both the mechanism of Perl's OO and also design issues. Our trainees leave
knowing how encapsualtion and polymorphism work, and really appreciating why they're such a benefit too.
