Moving easily from Perl 5 to Perl 6

You may have heard some frightening stories that tell you that Perl 6 is not source code compatible with Perl 5. Those stories are correct in that Perl 6 source code does differ substantially (after all, Larry Wall who wrote Perl in the late 1980s is brilliant, but even he couldn't forecast what would be needed in this millenium) but there are easy ways of migrating. This diagram from a Perl course shows how you can use both Perl 5 and Perl 6 source within the new Perl 6 / Parrot environment, and within the same application, using PONIE. Learn more about it on our courses!
