At the end of a day of technical seminars (PHP and Design Patterns being the main topics as I recall!), we all went down to the local Indian restaurant and ate a curry. With a wide mixture of customers from commercial organisations and acedemia, with a sprinkling of independent contractors, the evening was greatly enjoyed and appreciated by everyone as they had a chance to meet and exchange technical tips and ideas with folks they wouldn't meet up with on a day to day basis.
