Why "residential"? We've spent this weekend planing Well House Manor - the facilities and services we should be offering in our new business hotel for Melksham, and that word kept cropping up. Well House Manor should be a home for our business travellers away from home - somewhere that's their residence for the few days that they're with us - their residence - and not a regular hotel. What does this mean? It means that our guests won't be wanting to stuff themselves with a full meal every night, but they will be wanting instead a wide selection of light and not-so light food nearby, and the opportunity to bring it back in if they choose. It means that our guests will want to feel well looked after, yet will also want to be left alone to do their own thing without feeling they're being given intrusive attention from staff or landlady. It means that our guests will want good communications and plenty of space in their rooms at which to work, and that they'll want a light breakfast to be available from early in the morning. And will want plenty of secure parking for themselves and any guests they have or anyone picking them up or dropping them off. And they'll want ... The list goes on, but I'm sure you get the idea.
